Five Best Vibration Machines for 2020

The Benefits of Whole Body Vibration Machines

Whole body vibration machines, or WBV, have become a popular piece of equipment in the passive exercise community.  Many have been skeptical of their benefits, but the truth is that they can improve your health and fitness level all while you watch television at home.

Vibration machines work by vibrating rapidly (30x per second) which causes your muscles to contract in an effort to stabilize and balance your body.  This contraction and balance is where whole body vibration machines work their magic and offer you fitness benefits.

And there is a solid base of research out there to support the health benefits of these machines.  One study looked at post-menopausal women to compare using a whole body vibration machine to walking.  After eight months, the group that used the vibration machines saw a 4.3% increase in bone density compared to the walking group.  They also saw greater balance enhancement than the walkers.

Another study published in the Journal of Bone and Mineral Research showed that those who use WBVs regularly also increased their muscle strength.

In fact, Whole Body Vibration Machines can be used to help improve many areas of fitness including balance, bone density, muscle strength, vertical jump, and circulation.  Because of the passive nature of these machines, we think these are best suited for the elderly, over-weight, and others who may not be able to perform traditional exercises like lifting or walking.

Don’t get us wrong here, we still think that whole-body vibration machines should only be a part of a larger fitness regimen that includes other exercises.  However, we are confident that the benefits of WBV is real and can be an important component for those looking to improve their fitness.

Merax is a brand with products that we have reviewed previously.  There whole body vibration machine also makes our list due to their continued commitment to quality fitness products.

The motor of this vibration machine has an output of 2000 watts, which is one of the largest outputs we’ve seen on a WBV.  There is also an option for a smaller 1000 watt motor.

This whole-body vibration machine also comes with 10 preset programs that will allow you to hone in on your vibration sessions.

The price varies a bit on this unit depending on which motor size you decide to buy, with the larger 2000 watt option costing around $275, and the 1000 watt setting you back about $225.

Due to the extra wattage power you get for the Merax compared to the Confidence we rate the Merax as a better value.

merax demo Several users have stated that they enjoy the variety in the intensity and vibrations that is offered by the 10 different preset settings on the Merax.  They also mentioned that the yoga straps work well and add another unique component to your workout.

The motor on the Merax Vibration Machine is the best and most powerful that we’ve found on any of the vibration machines that we’ve reviewed.

The rubber on the vibration platform is riveted so that it minimizes the occurrence of any slippage while in use.

Due to the stronger motor and a 300 pound weight limit, the Merax Whole Body Vibration Platform is a great choice for those who need to lose a significant amount of weight.  The one down side is that this vibration machine does not measure BMI or body fat like the Confidence WBV does.

We’ve already mentioned Confidence once before with our review of the full body vibration platform.

The Confidence VibeSlim Vibration Fitness Trainer Plate may not have the full handlebars, but still has great quality parts which is why it made our list.

Made from metal and plastic, this WBV has a wide base making it a very stable platform.  The motor on the Confidence VibeSlim makes 300 watts of power, with a peak of 500.  This is a big number for a home vibration machine model.

At around $150, the Confidence VibeSlim Vibration Fitness Trainer is a lower cost option from this fitness brand that allow users to get the benefits of the vibration machine without the high cost.

Overall, this is the best value vibration machine that money can buy.

vibeslim remote Variety in settings is where the VibeSlim really shines.  Many users complimented the VibeSlim due to it’s high number of speed settings (50).  Having such a large number of speeds makes this vibration machine a good choice for many different bodies and fitness goals.  Not only does it have many speed settings but also is equipped with three preprogrammed workouts.

The weight limit for this vibration system is 264 pounds, which is substantial for a machine that only weighs 40 pounds.

Another benefit of the Confidence VibeSlim is the small size, which makes it a great choice for those who live in small apartments or will need to put the machine in a closet between sessions.

3. Confidence Fitness Full Body Vibration Platform

Materials:              4.5 out of 5 stars (4.5 / 5)
Value:                     4 out of 5 stars (4 / 5)

The Confidence Fitness Full Body Vibration Platform is one solid piece of equipment.  The platform is a fairly typical sized 15″ x 21″ inch and made from molded rubber that is dense.

This WBV machine has a weight of 70 pounds, which means that most will not want to move it once it is set up.  However, it does come with two wheels that make the Confidence Fitness more portable.

Two yoga straps are included on this vibration machine which allows for greater variety workouts.

At around $250, the Confidence Fitness Full Body Vibration Platform is an above average value.  This is due to the quality of the parts as well as the extra yoga straps that are included with this WBV.  This vibration machine is also rated one of the most durable and reliable units on our list.

confidence full demo The Confidence Fitness Full Body Vibration Platform has one 600W motor underneath the vibration platform that offers rapid oscillating movements.  This means that the platform will alternate quickly between the right side being up with the left side down, and visa versa.

While oscillating movements are not the best when it comes to improving bone density, it does help to improve balance and lose weight as it works to mimic the motion of walking or jogging.

Users of this vibration machine also stated that the noise level is reasonable, with sound levels low enough that you can watch television while using the Confidence Fitness without issue.

The LCD screen has a BMI function that allows for you to track your weight loss progress as you continue to use the machine.  It also has a low to high setting that ranges from 1-50 so that you can determine how intense you want your vibration session to be.

4. Ancheer Full Body Vibration Platform

Materials:              4.3 out of 5 stars (4.3 / 5)
Value:                     4 out of 5 stars (4 / 5)
Performance:        4.5 out of 5 stars (4.5 / 5)
Overall:                  4.3 out of 5 stars (4.3 / 5)

Ancheer is a brand that has alos made our list for Best Spin Bike.

Ancheer’s WBV is a solid machine that is made from both plastic and metal.  The exercise plat is powered by a 1000 watt motor which is certainly powerful enough to handle the needs of the vast majority of users.

This Ancheer Full Body Vibration Platform has a maximum weight capacity of 350 pounds, giving it the largest weight capacity of any vibration machine on our list.

The LED screen on this vibration machine has windows for time, speed, and a fat scanner.

The Ancheer Vibration Machine has a price in the $225 range.  As with other full sized vibration machines, the Ancheer comes with yoga straps for added resistance to your upper body.  Overall, we’d consider the Ancheer an above average value.

ancheer demo With 1,000 watts to utilize, the platform vibration plate has enough power to meet the needs of almost any user.  You are able to use the Ancheer in many different ways thanks to it’s size and the instruction booklet, which provides guidance on the different position you can do so that you get maximum benefit out of this WBV.

Users like the fact that the Ancheer Vibration Machine has a fat scanner, which allows you to check in on your progress as you embark on your fitness journey.  If you are going to use this unit for weight loss, then we recommend that you do a wide variety of positions and exercises on the vibration machine for maximum results.

As with the Merax and Confidence, the yoga straps are great as they give you the opportunity to also work your upper arms/body while standing on the platform.  This is a great addition as these vibration platforms do not work the upper body much on their own.

At 77 pounds, the Ancheer Full Body Vibration Platform is portable, but we would not recommend it for those who will need to move it after each session as it is quite heavy.

5. Hurtle Fitness Vibration Machine

Materials:              3.8 out of 5 stars (3.8 / 5)
Value:                     4 out of 5 stars (4 / 5)
Performance:        4 out of 5 stars (4 / 5)
Overall:                  3.9 out of 5 stars (3.9 / 5)

Hurtle Fitness Vibration Machine is our first entry that does not have  handlebars or a display pad.  In exchange for not having these features the Hurtle WBV instead has a remote control that allows you to adjust the resistance setting without having to bend over.

The motor on this vibration machine has 300 watts making it less powerful than some of the more expensive units.  For this reason, we recommend the Hurtle Fitness Vibration Machine for those who are not looking for a super intensive vibration session.

What the Hurtle Vibration Machine lacks in power and handlebars it makes up for in price.  You can pick this WBV up for about $170.

Not only that but the Hurtle does come with yoga resistance band straps that can attach to the base.  So if you want a low impact versatile workout session, then this is a fine choice.

hurtle remote There’s a reason that this is one of the highest rated vibration machines on Amazon, this thing gets the job done while remaining a great value.  20 levels of adjustable speed offers a lot of choice when it comes to how intense you want your vibration session to be.

The Hurtle as with our other entries uses a oscillating movement that pivots up and down. This is great for improving balance, circulation, and strength.  With a 220 pound weight limit, this vibration machine should work for most.  If you are over the weight limit you would be better off choosing a larger WBV, like the Merax Whole Body Vibration Platform.

Having the remote control is must with this unit as otherwise you would be bending down to make any speed adjustments.  The remote is also user-friendly and easy to use.

When picking the best vibration machine there are many factors to consider.  Things that we took into account when making our decision included the quality of materials, motor power, display, workout settings and features, and weight limit.

While any of these five vibration machines are a great choice, one stood out from the pack.  The Merax Whole Body Vibration Machine just has more options in regard to motor size and was the most well built unit available today.

It has 10 preset programs and yoga straps that offer variety and versatility to your vibration workouts.  While it does not have a BMI/body fat scanner, this can easily be purchased separately, which is why we did not dock too many points from our rating of this WBV.
